I wasn't talking about scale or outreach of marketing. I was talking that IMO it wasn't that provocative or interesting, i.e. "make me want to watch it."

I wish this thread was more active, and people here discussed the actual comics, rather than their adaptations.

I'm trying to get into comics more. I'm currently reading the John Byrne run on She Hulk, it's giving me somewhat of a headache, it's very............... weird. Very meta and conceptual stuff. Going to try to read the Love & Rockets stories I have. Trying to get into that series, don't really know where to start. I bought the Maggie the Mechanic trade paperback back last year, hoping to actually get into reading it.

VENOM aiming for fall 2017 shoot, pitched as "horror" movie

    *Scene at Sony*

"So LIFE was a dud this weekend. What do we do next?"
"Make another alien-parasite-comes-to-Earth horror movie but with a BIGGER budget!"
    "Genius!"

Off-topic, but it disappoints me that the only time this thread gets notice is when someone posts about film/TV related stuff.

New Warriors (starring Squirrel Girl) ordered to 10 episode series at Freeform

    http://comicbook.com/marvel/2017/04/...riors-tv-show/

She's a tough nut to crack but if they were able to? Gangbusters.

I'm less hot about the half hour sitcom format. Yeah how is that working out for POWERLESS?

(Legit question: only watched the pilot, which was kinda terrible.)

Kevin Biegel is a damn good showrunner, much better than whoever they have running Powerless. I am optimistic.

Yikes, Marvel has a bit of a problem there (especially in the current state of the world):

‘Marvel’s New Warriors’: Characters Unveiled For Freeform’s Live-Action Comedy Series

Two weeks after Freeform ordered Marvel’s New Warriors straight to series, the Disney-owned cable net has taken the wraps off the live-action comedy’s characters. Be on the lookout for Craig Hollis (Mister Immortal), Dwayne Taylor (Night Thrasher), Robbie Baldwin (Speedball) and Zack Smith (Microbe), along with the previously announced Doreen Green (Squirrel Girl).

Marvel's literally just issued a press release begging readers not to complain about the Secret Empire/Hydra Cap storyline until it's over:

    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hea...medium=twitter

    This is kinda ridiculous.

Telling comic fans not to complain is like telling Republicans to not be bigots. Good luck Ike!

    Since this wasn't posted earlier:

My reaction: Meh, looks like a Freeform program (duh right?) and since such shows on that network are teensploitation....kids will probably eat it up. (With this and NEW WARRIORS (also coming to Freeform) and RUNAWAYS on Hulu that just got a greenlight, Marvel is banking hard on the YA/teensploitation market for cable/streaming.)

Happy Free Comic Book Day y'all!

I'm really surprised Fresh Off the Boat has an issue this year. Then again, I'm waaaay behind on the series.

Even though I like Fresh Off the Boat, this makes me cringe
