I think it would be smart to wait two more days before making new predictions...

girl, you better get that prayer circle going for j.law's Drama Globe nomination, because my gal is coming (for a Drama Globe nomination).

Can at least we all agree this is our Top 10 and anyone else has little to no chance of getting in?
I'd replace Jennifer Lawrence with Annette Bening.

My "rabbit ass mind" thinks that a decently reviewed, basic ass Brit biopic is great material for precursor filler noms, and that AW likes to declare people "dead" with great finality and gusto whenever something comes in below their overhyped expectations that nobody else shares. No, Bening will not be Oscar nominated this year, but if you don't think she's at least possible at SAG, Drama Globe, and BAFTA, you're crazy.

If Dench's movie is in comedy, then Bening's performance seems like something that can be a dead last filler nom in the Drama category at the Globes. Really don't see any possibility past that.

She couldn't hit SAG or BAFTA last year, she's not doing it for Film Stars.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to EOLB again.

Thanks hun. You didn't write anything disagreeable. She has a real shot at a Drama Globe nod (she just has to knock out Lawrence and Dench--if the latter goes Drama). BAFTA is trickier, but there is a (narrow) path, considering the story and principal players.

20th Century was a small American indie about a bunch of women. Film Stars is a decently reviewed, sentimental film/passion project set in Liverpool written by a BAFTA nominee from Manchester, directed by a BAFTA nominee, with three BAFTA winners in the cast, and one of the main characters being British.

But, okay. She has 0% chance.

I mean, the film isn't everything we thought it would be (expectations were sky high), but the reviews are quite good so far. Plus, Sony Pictures Classics is one of the best distributors.

I would be, but the critics have been far too quiet about it and SPC still seems to be trying Annette despite the middling reception. Vega needs to sweep NY and LA (totally possible) or she's out.
Is there some official confirmation they're pushing Bening hard? With Vega, I can see why the doubt lies within the fact that she doesn't have any proper BIG scene which are usually expected in an Oscar performance. Although that's often the case with Oscar-nominated performances in foreign language films that weren't designed for Oscar prospects.

    Hawkins
    Lawrence
    McDormand
    Streep
    Winslet

I have no idea who's winning (except Lawrence isn't, and Winslet is also unlikely for the moment)

That's low, even for you, you sad pathetic little excuse of a person. Don't you come and drag personal issues to this discussion. And as for my so-called "stupidity", I was banned, did my time and apologized to the whomever I felt I should to. So I will not have anyone throw that in my face, including you, like you're some high example of virtue and kindness, when you and I both know you're not. So I hope this was the last time you ever refered to me in those terms, or I will whoop yo ass, believe me. Are we clear?
