This last couple of days i've listened to

Beach House. MASTERPIECE. I hadn't listened to it because Beach House's music wasn't available on Spotify until recently, and even then I only listened to their latest album and didn't really love it. But this one is perfect.

Flying Lotus. To whoever FYCd this, thank you! This takes the Nicolas Jaar spot in my list as the best electronic release of the year. Forward-thinking stuff.

Future Islands. It was okay but nothing really stood out compared to "Singles".

Caribou. Some good tracks in there and an overall good electronic album but felt too safe compared to Flying Lotus.

Mala Rodríguez. Her worst release so far from the ones I've listened. She made my list some Canons ago but the production here was messy and weightless.

Ana Tijoux. In contrast, Ana Tijoux's Grammy nominated album towers over Mala's. Great to hear a mature rapper reflecting on mature issues.

Vampire Weekend. Wow. This was really, really good. "Taxi Cab" is an instant classic.

Arcade Fire. I was kind of tired when listening to this, so i don't know if that's why it sounded repetitive. "Reflektor" remains my favorite AF so far, even though it's still too long.

Foals. "Spanish Sahara" is something else whew, but they definitely improved upon it with their subsequent two releases. It's making my top regardless.

Sufjan Stevens. Underwhelming experiment by SS until it gets to that last, 25-minute track. A SONG. Every single minute is justified.

    The Radio Dept.. Was ok.

The National. They haven't disappointed me so far. This is no exception.

Javiera Mena. Quite good electropop album.

Kate Nash. Why hasn't this been FYCd here? I thought she had followers. It was good enough for a 10-15 spot.

    Velandia y la Tigra. Meh.

Its a must listen. Anyone who sent in a ballot without ever seeing Newsom's album is just doing it wrong

Less than three days left to submit, y'all! Again: I know this has clearly been the most competitive year yet, but just get it over with and send me whatcha got (unless Have One on Me isn't [bare minimum] top three, in which case reevaluate your life choices/taste in general asap and choke).

FYI to all you last minute submitters: not voting for this--
