If they have any decency and taste (which I doubt), the Individual Achievement in Drama category will be a two-person race between two GOAT performances: the groundbreaking work of Kyle MacLachlan in Twin Peaks, and the astonishing Keri Russell in The Americans. Everyone else? Bye!

I miss when they would nominate showrunners for the Individual Achievement categories. I don't think they've done that recently, unless we can count someone like Louis C.K.?

I can tell you the TCAs will have a new category this year: Outstanding Sketch Comedy or Variety Series.

(I invented this category. My proposal to split "individual achievement" into performers and behind the scenes folks was rejected.)

That's a great suggestion! I don't know why they're so married to the idea of just having those two Individual Achievement categories.

The membership really doesn't want to have a whole bunch of categories. And it likes having been the first major awards group to give performance awards that aren't split across gender.

All I know is that The Real Housewives of New York City deserves a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming.

I agree about Kyle's performance being special. I don't have Russell's work in the top 20 performances in a Drama (if including movies and mini-series) but very much love it. With the amount of great television, I wish the list was made into 10 with no competition. Just give all 10 an award.

This. MacLachlan and Twin Peaks have to slay this, please.
