So are you a fortune teller than can guess how much the film is going to make with no trailer, posters, reviews etc released yet?

    How many times?

Haven't a lot of contenders tested multiple times already? I'm thinking Beale Street, Boy Erased, Cheney, Beautiful Boy, etc.

    Sometimes it’s just obvious

It’s an extremely indie arthouse film from a newer studio and mostly unknown cast. It’s not going to have the acclaim and buzz that Moonlight did. And this fall is more packed than ever with not just indies, but old skewing studio projects: First Man, Widows, Bohemian Rhapsody. If BP winner Moonlight from the hot A24 made like 29m, how much do you REALLY think this is doing? It’s a tough marketplace. Hell, look how badly Amazon did last year with Wonderstruck, LFF, and Wonder Wheel!

I'm not saying the reactions were unfair or something, but I believe we can still give it a chance till its trailer releases at least...

I’m really starting to hate those of you who keep saying things like “weren’t you the guy who was predicting XYZ last year and got it wrong?”. Like, so what? No one is supposed to be right all the time. This is a prediction thread where people predict “possible” nominees and winners. While some of us are good at it, some of us aren’t. And that’s ok. No one is getting an Oscar for it at the end. Stop taking everything so seriously and chill.

This is supposed to be “fun” but some of you suck the fun out of everything.

I get your point, but at the same time I hate it when people take DirkDiggler's word as a fact. Sure, he doesn't think IBSCT will be a player, but that doesn't mean it won't.

Thanks but no, Dirk. We already have Gingervitis on our team. We don't need trujinxxx to mess with Legend.

Go stan Glenn Close or something.

Well then you didn't get the point.

It doesn’t mean it will either. The fact that we have an opinion that says it won’t be a player is more telling than not having an opinion that says it will be a player. Layne isn’t happening, just get used to it.

Well so don't bring the point as you did previously.

The irony is you bring Dirk when you do exactly the same (like being obnoxious, for example) lol.

I’m torn on Beale Street, especially after seeing it. There’s just so little for me to believe in.
