EMMYS 2018: WHO WILL BE NOMINATED? - Guest Actor in a Drama Series

    Last year's nominees:

Gerald McRaney, This Is Us (WINNER)
    Hank Azaria, Ray Donovan
Brian Tyree Henry, This Is Us
    Ben Mendelsohn, Bloodline
    Denis O'Hare, This Is Us
    B.D. Wong, Mr. Robot

McRaney, last year's winner, returns as a contender. All five of his counterparts from last year, however, are gone. Ron Cephas Jones, a nominee last year for Supporting Actor, is a contender this year in Guest.

There has never been a repeat winner in this category. Charles S. Dutton won back-to-back Guest trophies in 2002 and 2003, but for different shows (The Practice, Without A Trace).

He played himself and he was actually quite good, not award worthy or anything but he was a natural and quite warmth

Yeah he's in 5/10 which, unfortunately, includes that brief glimpse of him in that party scene in ep 1 (2?).

Cameron Britton really deserves a nomination, but no way in hell does it happen. :'(

It is a new show, he has no name recognition and most are not high on Mindhunter's chances, so I get it, but Netflix has been campaigning him since December. They have also been treating him as the fourth member of the ensemble in campaigning, bringing him out to events and touting him for consideration while ignoring two of the series regulars.

I hated Mindhunter, but I absolutely agree with this.

Just noticed that I typed MICHAEL GOODE instead of Matthew. If anybody can change it, thanks!

I think McRaney could go from winner to dropped this year, even if I think This Is Us will pick up a ton of acting noms. They have no problem dropping previous winners in guest categories, and he really did nothing in season 2

McRaney's big moment with Mandy Moore in "The Car" seals his nomination this year, imho.

Cameron Britton should win this but he probably won't even be nominated.

This wouldn't shock me, but I think his performance last season was so beloved that he'll get some name checking. I also don't watch the show anymore, so I'm not sure what his stuff has been like this season.

It's a pretty barren category, so I think he's probably fine.
