    Ellen Burstyn
    Angela Lansbury
    Laura Dern
    Judith Light
    Penelope Cruz
Merritt Wever -While the performances aren't similiar, her scenario reminds of Jonah Goldberg at the Oscar's a few years ago.nNo way they miss if their project does well with nominations and people are seeing the performance.

    Just out JJL,Elizabeth Debicki,Julia Ormond,Dakota Fanning,Queen Latifah

Yes. If a supporting actress makes it for Howards End it should be Coulthard.

Performance itself is win-worthy. That meltdown in episode 2....

And so rooting for Emmy legend Meritt Wever's comeback. Even if I haven't seen it yet.

Does Jennifer Jason Leigh stand a chance?

This is a pretty fun category.

I assume Cruz can ease her way to a win, but the Lansbury of it all is dramatic.

Is it possible that Laura Dern wins both Miniseries/TV Awards, or is it likelier that she just wins Lead Actress for The Tale?

Not just because I stan Elizabeth Debicki but Ellen Burstyn doesn't really deserve the nomination compared to Debicki and Isabelle Nélisse.

That would be a kneejerk win based on name if ever there was one. There is a great performance in the same category on the same show. It is by Judith Light. If that performance by Light loses out to Cruz it would be shameful. Even worse if Cruz wins and Light is not nominated. That would be redux of a Martindale wins for The Americans while Lois Smith is snubbed for a nomination in the voters saying we don't bother to watch these shows and vote solely based on name recognition.

I thought Light and Cruz were both pretty incredible.

Cruz gave a performance I had never seen from her before and didn't expect. She floored me. Light was quite memorable with a delicate, nuanced performance that hit pretty hard. I personally would probably give it to Light based on what I saw, but I didn't watch the whole series, I don't believe.

I imagine Emmy will do at least the right thing and nominate both, considering the competition doesn't appear that great. Here's hoping.

I don't think Burstyn>>> Debicki. IMO Debicki is more deserving but its probably not happening.

Was Dakota good? I heard the show flopped no?

Thought that Joanna Adler was terrific as Cunanan’ mother, but triple noms from the same cast in the already packed category are barely possible.

If it were still based on episode tape submissions, then it would be highly possible, because no one can beat Dern's performance in Part 16 of Twin Peaks.

But they don't count anymore, so who knows. I think this race will come down to the Performance (Dern) vs. the Overdue Narrative (Lansbury).

I think it's highly possible for Light to win. It's not the typical winner (she only starred in two episodes, after all) but she actually had some huge buzz. I'd love for her to have a real Emmy.

Supporting nominees still submit 'tapes,' just not leads.
