LMAO I love that Downton and AHS have done a reverse. Well that paves the way for an extra spot in the drama cats now.
"It's better to over analyse than not analyse at all." NM. 2000.
They gave them the option, I read. They could have entered it as a drama series or a miniseries.
Actually I believe, there are actually precedents for 12 part series being entered as mini-series. But usually in those old cases, it's announced from the get go that they are mini-series. I, Claudius was entered as a mini-series (then known as 'Limited Series') in '78 for instance.
Good for Jessica Lange. Maggie Smith and Jessica Lange can win now.
Since the cast changes every season Ryan Murphy is calling it an "anthology" series. FX had the option of submitting it in drama series or miniseries.
That is bizarre. But, both Lange and Smith will now win Emmy's for sure.
I sorta wish (hope) Lange would submit in Lead so we could have Jessica Lange, Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman in the same category. Like, omfg.
Television is such a great place for older actresses to showcase their talents. I'm disappointed that Anjelica Huston got stuck with a trite character in a dud of a vehicle, but am thrilled by Julianne Moore's success in Game Change. I think she should do more projects for HBO until another great film comes around.
Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the Emmys.
I approve, he's been really hilarious the last few years and I think he'll kill it.
