That seems like category fraud. They know they have a far better chance of getting nominated there than in Drama Series.

LMAO I love that Downton and AHS have done a reverse. Well that paves the way for an extra spot in the drama cats now.

Considering the 12-episode first season and already-announced second season, how was this allowed?

They gave them the option, I read. They could have entered it as a drama series or a miniseries.

Actually I believe, there are actually precedents for 12 part series being entered as mini-series. But usually in those old cases, it's announced from the get go that they are mini-series. I, Claudius was entered as a mini-series (then known as 'Limited Series') in '78 for instance.

Good for Jessica Lange. Maggie Smith and Jessica Lange can win now.

I guess because they're totally changing the characters and setting for each season? It's still weird.

Since the cast changes every season Ryan Murphy is calling it an "anthology" series. FX had the option of submitting it in drama series or miniseries.

That is bizarre. But, both Lange and Smith will now win Emmy's for sure.

I sorta wish (hope) Lange would submit in Lead so we could have Jessica Lange, Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman in the same category. Like, omfg.

    I hope not.

She'd probably knock out Romola Garai, who should be nominated.

Television is such a great place for older actresses to showcase their talents. I'm disappointed that Anjelica Huston got stuck with a trite character in a dud of a vehicle, but am thrilled by Julianne Moore's success in Game Change. I think she should do more projects for HBO until another great film comes around.

No. Julianne Moore has to finally win a televised award, and I'll be damned if Jessica Lange gets in her way, especially since she already has two Oscars, and a handful of Golden Globes, Emmys, and SAG awards.

And Lange's performance is certainly better than Moore's, so I guess it's for the best that she remains in the supporting category.

Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the Emmys.

I approve, he's been really hilarious the last few years and I think he'll kill it.

And now she can lose to Nicole Kidman again!

Great. Now who's going to watch Sunday Rose on SAG night??

I'm all for the new NBC show "Awake" to win something (okay, just nodded, for like camera or something, it's underrated) Isaacs is great and it's writing is awesome (maybe, kinda, possibly a little, sorta?)
