Apple Updated: iPad 4 & 1080p Apple TV

The new Apple TV will support 1,080p high-def content and features a redesigned user interface, though the physical set-top box will look the same as its preddecessor.

The simpler interface displays "big billboard images for movies,"
Of course, right after I get the Apple TV for Christmas --- they upgrade it to a new interface and 1080p.

The new iPad features a sharper screen and a faster processor. Apple says the new display will be even sharper than the high-definition television set in the living room.
While on the iPad 4 front --- Really, the only big difference is the price! Haha.

    1080p already? Wow!

And you really need that on a 10" tablet, because...?

And LOL at those prices .

The prices are the same as before?

"Prices are $499/$599/$699 for Wi-Fi-only models in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. Models with LTE 4G cost $629/$729/$829, respectively."

But, the iPad 2 just got a $100 price cut with the announcement of the 3rd.

Apple is going to own the tablet market for years, I bet. I still think the prices for these things are outrageous, but people sure do want 'em.

If they somehow manage to score a hit on their third attempt with Apple TV...the sky's the limit.

Of course, Jobs couldn't pull it off himself so who knows.

I think most people didn't want to purchase a device that didn't really do much on its own; not an actual gadget per se but an interface. But when their own brand of TVs come out and people see they will be able to operate onscreen just like iTunes, it should connect with the mainstream.

The downside for the company is that people are less likely to replace their televisions as often as they would a phone, iPod, or even a computer. So they may get a lot of people to try one, but there's not going to be much repeat business there.

Hmm, that might be true. But never underestimate the Apple fanatics.
