So I like this show a lot but the more I watch it the more I realize how alike me and Nick are and then I get weirded out.
But I really like this season!

Yes. I think the perfect use of "Anything Could Happen" really made the episode for me.
That ending was a great conclusion to season long build-up. I love Nick and Jess together but hopefully now that they've done the deed we get to see them in story-lines with other people.
COMING THIS AWARDS SEASON
GATSBY VS. GATSBY
Well that kinda ended with a whimper.
COMING THIS AWARDS SEASON
GATSBY VS. GATSBY
I cried. I like that they gave us both a happy 'ending' and a cliffhanger (Team Elizabeth here), although the build-up was kinda boring and the whole episode seemed a bit unecessary, I mean, really, a whole season of this wedding build-up and then it ends without a good reason? But I guess if they had gotten married Season 3 would be a predictable one for Cece, and this shows they're not done with the character yet (they had no idea what to do with her this season). Anyway, I think Season 3 will be great even if I have no idea what they're gonna do.
And can we just reflect once more how awesome this season was![]()
The man who leaves and the man who comes back are not the same.
It wasn't a spectacular episode, but I still got plenty of laughs out of it and was all smiles for Nick and Jess at the end. I realized when the credits started up that I had completely fallen for the show because even the sounds of Deschanel's singing makes me smile like an old friend just showed up at this point. I think I'm on board with the AV Club's consensus that this and Bob's Burgers were the best comedies on the air this season (not counting Louie, I guess).
Also, can Rob Reiner please be a regular on this?
I have to admit, I was *really* disappointed in this episode (though, it's a testament to this show's strength that even after saying that, I can admit that it was still compulsively watchable).
I'm a huge fan of both Shivrang AND Elizabeth, and, quite honestly, I would love to have seen Shivrang become a recurring character. I thought he and Cece were cute together, and I would actually like to have seen a show with a (semi) arranged marriage that was happy and healthy (though, obviously, not with its challenges). It would have been so refreshing.
Shivrang had a really interesting dynamic with the other guys, and I actually think having him and Cece in a stable relationship next season trying to conceive while maybe an obvious plotline is one that could be really emotionally resonant and would give both of them plenty "to do" next season. The way the wedding and the Cece/Shivrang relationship ended felt so, so cheap, and didn't really feel natural for the characters, either. Very disappointed in how the whole thing was handled.
Was quite pleased, on the other hand, with the way the Jess/Nick stuff developed. Glad they're actually going to have them give it a shot next season.
And despite the fact that, yet again, poor Winston got the total "B" story, he actually got some of the funniest gags/lines of this episode, so that was nice.
Hoping Elizabeth sticks around and Cece moves on to someone else next season. We don't need to belabor two "will they/won't they?" relationships.
