BREAKING NEWS: Man of Steel is a hit! We're getting more superhero movies! AW commits mass suicide.
Movies recently reviewed by RRA:
Evil Dead (2013)
Superman (1978)
In the Mouth of Madness (1995)
Fast & Furious 6 (2013)
Star Trek (2009)
I forgot about this thread. I really like this show. The number of minor DC characters brought in is exciting. Count Vertigo?!
Btw, the last episode confirmed that Oliver's sister is indeed their version of Mia Dearden, since she was identified as Thea Dearden Queen.
Teen Wolf's Colton Haynes was cast as Roy Harper.
Last 5 episodes or so I've unfortunately missed but have on my DVR. Just been too busy to catch it lately. I'll try to catch up and offer my nerd thoughts when I can.

You can do it, Naomi! You're...
ONLY 10 EASY STEPS AWAY FROM OSCAR!
1.) Bankrupt small, independent distributor via massive Oscar campaign. Failing that, proceed to...
2.) Cash in King Kong residual checks to pay for FYC advertisements from Kinko's.
3.) To avoid getting sent straight to VOD, attach entire film as a "trailer" to another film people actually want to see. And then...
4.) Try to do it Lahti-style and win Academy Award for Best Short Film.
5.) Avoid telling a story that everyone already knows by adding exciting details and/or gratuitous editing.
6. Carefully and patiently weather the wrath of film critics/the royal family/the tabloids/Diana-maniacs for trying to add said details. (Good luck!)
7. Find all of the boxes with "August: Osage County" screeners and slip in self-made cam bootleg from premiere screening at Lowes...the hardware store.
(Not Loews, the movie theater -- too expensive!)
8. Trick octogenarian Oscar voters into thinking that you are, in fact, a real princess. (Hey, it worked on Eva Marie Saint!)
9. On Oscar night, have camera crews come to Nicole's house, Joan Crawford-style, so you can win and keep your day job.
10. OSCAR!
Have you seen the Helena Bertinelli episodes? Those were a highlight for me, I thought she was pretty badass, even though it was problematic to say the least that they had to make her a love interest of Ollie.
I hope she comes back and can go into full-on Birds of Prey mode with Laurel/Dinah and Felicity/Barbara.

Well I finally caught up with those episodes, and caught up with the season finale. That scene when Captain Jack smashed the TV? Awesome. I loved that.
I'm reminded that for stories like these which are testosterone soap operas really if you think about it in the first place, TV has the advantage over film in the ability to slowly put the pieces together delicately instead of broad strokes which might miss the little pleasures, expand upon relationships (whether sexual or friendship or alliances, whatever) and build them up so that when the hammer drops (as it did in the finale), then you feel the aftermath and the consequences going forward. Very good ARROW people. I like that the hero has established his own little vigilante crew (and not the crew you would've expected in the first episode if following comic lore), his own Spider-Man-esque melodrama relationships with friends and family, and well his first season which played off as his first major storyline. Now onto season 2...
Next season, producers hinted that he'll get "Green Arrow" moniker down the road and perhaps even evolve in how he deals with criminals. Also, boxing glove arrow. Let's make that happen people!
