It'll be From Up on Poppy Hill. I've been hearing good things about it.

With there being 5 big studio animated films this year (Brave, Wreck-It Ralph, Paranorman, Frankenweenie, Rise of the Guardians), I dont think the GKIDS films have much of a chance. In the other years they got nominations, there were only 2 or 3 good big studio animated films that year. But if anythings getting left out, im thinking its Paranorman. Even though its not the lowest grossing of the 5 (that would be Frankenweenie), I think Frankenweenie has the advantage because its more stylized and has Burton's name on it.

People seems to forget that the animation branch vote with note all the films, the preferential system is not used in this category, that's why foreign films are always nominated. This year won't be an exception.

Well the critics' response to 'Rise of the Guardians' is in:

    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/rise...uardians_2012/

    http://www.metacritic.com/movie/rise-of-the-guardians

Will this be enough for the film to bag a nomination, or does it face too strong a competition to get in? Because, in my opinion, chances are we are probably going to see our first non-CGI winner of this category since 2005...

I liked Goro Miyazaki's From Up on Poppy Hill, but is a minor film if we compare it with the films of his father. It has chances but it's not going to be our winner.
