Having seen Rust & Bone tonight, I'm still a little bit unsure about Marion. First off, she was fantastic as was Matthias Schoenaerts, but while her overall story is really melodramatic and baity, the actual performance is very quiet, subtle and kind of un-Oscary. That said, I think the film itself is actually very much up the Academy's alley, at least as much as a foreign film can be. Combine that with the fact that I really do think the industry wants to nominate her again, her strong studio and that she's going to campaign and I think she's still a very strong bet.
