How is a whitewashed version more interesting?
This reminds me of the Kennedy clan (allegedly) forcing that Kennedy mini-series with Katie Holmes to get dumped some years back because it portrayed the not so nice details, even though they've been public knowledge for decades.

The fact that the film will be a " warts-and-all" look at MLK actually is one of the most promising things about it. King was a great, great man whose accomplishments were absolutely incredible and among the most important in American history. That said, he was still a human being, and all human beings have flaws.

at one point Lee Daniels was working on a project about MLK, SELMA...but the things didn't work (it seems again for problems with King family)...but in his case I'm afraid nobody mattered if a whitewashed version was on his arrival...How is a whitewashed version more interesting?
