Maybe so, but Julianne should have won that year (and I know you think so too )

Adams has to go lead in a gritty role similar to what she played in THE FIGHTER. Then she is sure to walk on the stage and accept her win. She's beautiful and a very gifted actress! There's no reason for her to take on supporting roles all the time!

I just watched an interview with David O'Russell and from what he said about his new movie Adams seems to have the best character. It might be an easy win for being overdue.

I think she definitely will. She's basically been on the scene for what, like 7 years? 4 noms already/

I'll see an Adams win when I see it.

Oh Adams will win, She's already showing some signs of Winslet-crazy this year (That THR roundtable!). She will be desperate soon enough.

Glenn left her desperation a little too late (and she still got the nom!).

I mean, it took Winslet four nods to go on the huge campaigning road which ended up going nowhere, and on her next nod, she made sure the little golden man will be hers.

The man who leaves and the man who comes back are not the same.

Do you recall about where in the video he says this?

This. Adams crazy brattiness during the roundtable gave me hope that she has it in her.

I think it's what David said at 19:20ish mark.

And her mentioning that she's been nominated four times already is already showing signs. She's following Kate's steps already, even though that means she's supporting yet again.

Well I don't think any amount of campaigning would have won Winslet on her 2nd-4th noms, so maybe she just knew she shouldn't bother.

What was her campaigning like for her 1st nom? As the Bafta and Sag winner she was clearly close to a win.

If she's nominated in supporting again and loses than she'll be closer to Thelma Ritter not Winslet.

The BAFTAs were held after the Oscars back then.

She did win SAG but I think Joan Allen might have beaten her out had she been nominated in supporting instead of lead. Quite a few prognosticators were predicting Allen to win the Oscar. Probably Winslet was just happy to be nominated, and, being fearful of having to do a movie like A Kid in King Arthur's Court again, likely tried to make the most out of the nod and ingratiate herself with Hollywood bigwigs.

When I mention her following "Winslet's steps" is being more aggressive with her next nominations and reminding people that she's getting nominated quite a lot but hasn't won anything yet. You know Amy has the cray cray in her, and she'll soon use Winslet's path to Oscar glory.
