I hope that Brave does not win this. Its the weakest of the nominees, yet the Pixar brand may get it enough votes to win. Its more traditional than the other nominees and the general academy might find solace in that. Wreck-It-Ralph is a far more of an interesting film and a much better princess story.
LOL Dirk, WIR is my personal winner but it is not undeniable and BAFTA often snubs some animated films that get in everywhere else. Plus a lot of films are released that late and still get BAFTA nods. So it just missed, big deal, it doesn't kill its Oscar chances. But Brave is the frontrunner. A weak one.

Those of you who know the drill will know that for most categories, I will give a Should Win (SW) pick. For every category I will give a Will Win (WW) pick. And for those I feel qualified to make a judgment, I will make a Closest Threat (CT) pick for who I think could upset for the win. So here goes:
BEST ANIMATED FEATURE:
SW & WW: Wreck-It Ralph
CT: Brave
Brave may be the Disney/Pixar feature of the year but it doesn't stand alone at the top like The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall-E and Toy Story 3 just to name a few. Two other animated movies by Disney also posed a challenge: Frankenweenie and Wreck-It Ralph. I give Ralph the edge.
