Actually it's the one with the most that wins about 2 thirds of the time. Then the one with second most usually wins if the leading film doesn't.

It's rare for a film to win that isn't among the top two nominated films. Argo is breaking so many precedents this year.

Well five more films had more noms than The Greatest Show on Earth. And four films had more noms than Annie Hall and the Departed. And In the Heat of the Night was tied for least noms of The BP nominees. Not to mention Grand Hotel.

I don't think total nominations matter as much as where and how you get nominated. Like double sound nods and a total filler one for Arkin or SLP getting everything it did are in a way a better indicator of popularity than something like "Lincoln" or "Benjamin Button" showing up in all applicable categories.

Unfortunately, no. Having only seen "Pi", "Beasts", "Amour" and "Argo", I'm still saddened all awards would go to "Argo". The academy will sometimes not give a damn who is winning all the awards and will go their own way. But, really, the only way they could honorably get away with NOT awarding "Argo" is by giving "Amour" Best Picture. I´m not good at statistics but I think the chances of that happening are -75%.

For somebody as beautiful as she is, she really struggles with dressing herself.

Here's hoping her Oscar look is as great as it was last year.

Add a little color and she'll look fine.

She's not dressing herself, it;s her stylist. Jennifer Lawrence has been so hit and miss this awards season too. Both should fire whoever is dressing them.

I believe Lawrence's is Rachel Zoe, also Anne Hathaway's. She hasn't been doing too good of a job this season. Chastain is wildly inconsistent, she either looks incredible or terrible.

I think Chastain has had pretty bad fashion sense both this season and last year. She's a very (unconventionally) beautiful lady but she's not exactly a fashionista. That is an awful dress, ew!

That's a very unfortunate outfit for Saint Chastain

I think Chastain is beyond beautiful, but she's a consistently terrible dresser.

Lawrence and Chastain both need to trade up for better stylists.

I'd love to see JLaw with someone young like Ryan Hastings or Leith Clark. I just want to see Jessica with someone who knows how to flatter her body type and won't make her look so boring all the time.
