Iowa Film Critics Association (IFCA) goes for Rami Malek, ‘The Favourite,’ and Regina King

The Iowa Film Critics Association (IFCA) has chosen The Favourite as the best film of 2018. Star Olivia Colman was also chosen as Best Actress.

While most of their wins stayed firmly in the lane of other groups, they did veer with their Best Actor prize, which went to Rami Malek for his performance in Bohemian Rhapsody as Queen frontman Freddie Mercury.

Best Supporting Actor 
WINNER: Mahershala Ali, “Green Book”
(Runners-up: Richard E. Grant, “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” and Michael B. Jordan, “Black Panther”)

Best Supporting Actress 
WINNER: Regina King, “If Beale Street Could Talk”
(Runners-up: Emma Stone, “The Favourite,” and Rachel Weisz, “The Favourite”)

Best Animated Movie 
WINNER: “Incredibles 2”
(Runners-up: “Ralph Breaks the Internet” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-
Verse”)

Best Documentary
WINNER: “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”
(Runners-up: “Free Solo” and ‘RBG”)

Best Song
WINNER: “Shallow,” “A Star is Born”

Best Score
WINNER: Nicholas Britell, “If Beale Street Could Talk”
