A new animated vision of the classic TV series The Addams Family starring Academy Award winner Charlize Theron and Oscar Isaac as the duo of Morticia and Gomez Addams is coming your way and the first teaser is here.

The film has big shoes to fill, not only of the tv show but of Barry Levinson’s iconic feature film versions, 1991’s The Addams Family and 1993’s Addams Family Values which starred Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia.

The Addams Family is directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, produced by Kevin Miserocchi, Andrew Mittman and Joe Earley and also stars Chloë Grace Moretz (Suspiria, Greta), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Nick Kroll (Big Mouth) with Academy Award nominee Bette Midler (The Rose, For the Boys) and Academy Award winner Allison Janney (I, Tonya).

They’re creepy and they’re kooky and headed to theaters this Halloween. MGM will release the film on October 11th.

About Erik Anderson

Erik thanks his mother for his love of all things Oscar, having watched the Academy Awards together since he was in the single digits; making lists, rankings and predictions throughout the show. This led him down the path to obsessing about awards. Much later, he found himself at GoldDerby, led by Tom O’Neill and then migrated over to Oscarwatch (now AwardsDaily), headed up by Sasha Stone before breaking off to create AwardsWatch. He is a member of the International Cinephile Society, GALECA (The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics), the International Press Academy and is the founder/owner of AwardsWatch.
