Bleecker Street Acquires U.S. Rights to Rachel Zelger-led Thriller ‘NDA’ with Penn Badgley, Amy Ryan

Bleecker Street announced today that it has acquired U.S. rights to Audrey Ellis Fox’s debut feature NDA starring Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), Penn Badgley (You) and Academy Award nominee Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone, The Wire). The psychological-thriller stems from Ellis Fox’s original script, which was featured on the 2024 Black List and was selected for the 2023 Women in Film X Black List’s Feature Residency program. The film is currently in production in New York.
NDA follows Dana (Zegler) during a maddening day of mediation for an office harassment claim she filed, and as the clock ticks towards an immutable deadline, she questions the price of her silence, sanity, and the truth.
The film will be produced by Jared Ian Goldman and Zola Elgart Glassman for Mighty Engine, Keith Calder and Jess Wu Calder for SNOOT, Caitlin Gold for Tanbark Pictures, and Daniel Ginsberg for In The Cut Productions. Executive producers include Ellis Fox, Bleecker Street’s Kent Sanderson, Tyler DiNapoli, and Miranda King, as well as Christian Hall.
“NDA was one of the best scripts I’ve read and is exactly the kind of bold, filmmaker-driven cinema we’re passionate about championing,” said Kent Sanderson, CEO of Bleecker Street. “Audrey is a tremendous talent, and we’re honored to collaborate with her and the equally talented Rachel to bring this story to life.”
“I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Rachel, Penn, Amy, Bleecker, and the rest of this exceptional team to bring my film to screen,” said Ellis Fox. “NDA is a story about power and perception, and it’s incredibly exciting to work with partners who so fiercely believe in its vision.”
Ellis Fox is a narrative and commercial filmmaker, with experience directing projects for Nike, Netflix, McLaren, Gatorade, Amazon, Nestle, Adidas, and more, and collaborating with talent including Salma Hayek, Hailey Bieber, and Simu Liu, amongst others.
Zegler’s breakout role came in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story adaptation, for which she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress. She went on to star in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, for which she won a People’s Choice Award, with additional credits including Y2K, Spellbound, live-action Snow White, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. On stage, she recently starred in Evita at the London Palladium, which earned her the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical, and will reprise the role on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre in 2027. She will next be seen in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s film adaptation of the musical Octet and the comedy drama She Gets It from Me.
Badgley is best known for his acclaimed performance as Joe Goldberg in the Netflix psychological thriller series You. Badgley also served as a producer during his time on the show and made his directorial debut during its fourth season. He also produced and co- hosted the hit podcast “Podcrushed,” which explored all the woes of adolescence and released its final episode earlier this year. He will next appear in the romantic comedy You Deserve Each Other alongside Meghann Fahy.
Ryan is an Academy Award-nominated actress known for her acclaimed work across film and television. She earned widespread recognition and an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Gone Baby Gone, and has since built a career spanning acclaimed projects including Birdman, Bridge of Spies, Beautiful Boy, and Beau Is Afraid. On television, Ryan is widely recognized for her role as Holly Flax on The Office, as well as standout performances in Only Murders in the Building, The Wire, and In Treatment. She is set to appear in Academy Award winner Tom McCarthy’s A Statement.
