    Queen

and Blasty will post the follow-up in 4, 3, 2....

"Scandal" - Fourth single released from their 1989 album THE MIRACLE. Peaked at #25 in the UK,but failed to chart in the U.S. Written by Brian May (but credited to the whole band), inspired by the tabloid coverage of his divorce and Freddie Mercury's AIDS illness. Mercury recorded his vocals in one take, likewise by May with the keyboards and guitars. Roger Taylor dismissed the track. "Not one of my favorite songs. One of the most boring videos we ever made."

I love them, although by them I pretty much mean their greatest hits, because I am a rubbish music fan. Also, Flash Gordon is AMAZING, it is the perfect film project for Queen. FLASH AH AH SAVIOR OF THE UNIVERSE.
Who Wants to Live Forever makes me cry.

They are geniuses. Freddie and Brian more so than John and Roger, sure, but still. Whenever I try to make a Top 10 of their songs I end up dismissing the idea because there’s just so much I love. I often think ’39 is their best song.

I always prefered this version over the released one. This was an early mix that Queen then gave to the movie HIGHLANDER as part of their soundtrack commission. This cut never officially released until 2011, which was what 25 years later? I understand why they ultimately went with the released version: It's more poppy, more radio-friendly, and ended up on the A KIND OF MAGIC album, which was the unofficial HIGHLANDER soundtrack. But something about this for me is much more interesting and odd.

There are few Queen songs I don't like... but I love...

    - Who wants to live forever
    - Radio GaGa
    - Heaven for Everyone
    - The Show Must Go On
    - I Want It All...

Those who love Queen and have never heard the Queen Symphony...

Also Freddie's work with Montserrat Caballe... my God.

You know its funny (and Blasty will be baffled) but as a Queen fan for the longest time, I never cared for "Thank God its Christmas." Felt like it was just a tad too cheesy you know. but also perhaps the tune is just a little too simple for its own good. (I kinda have the same problem with McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime.") But then I heard it on the local radio during their Xmas music marathon....and damn it hit me like a hammer. I don't know why, maybe increasing age is making me softer. But yeah I'm a fan now.

Wonderful Christmastime is rather inane, truth be told, but it's a cute holiday trifle. Thank God it's Christmas is masterful and soulful, though. Definitely a stand-out XMAS song. It also helps that it's sparingly played and basically only performed by Queen as well, so it's never lost any of it's poetic power from overplay.

Freddie's immaculate vocal here is what really makes this stand out, don't it?

An ode to the most underrated Queen album that has become over the years one of my personal favorites.Kinda alienated some of the more classic fans at the time, and Queen's band members as well for being too club inspired (just a tad),but greatly appreciated in Germany's gay Bermuda triangle I'm sure.

I actually love Lambert's voice & I listened to his first Album that I loved, but I never been interested by him singing instead of Freddie with Queen...

    No kidding.

Freddie is in a separate universe, and nobody (repeat nobody) would ever think that Lambert could hold a candle to him.

That said, if Brian May (et. al) still want to perform the Queen songs live (and there is an audience that is interested in seeing them), unless they plan on performing a show entirely of instrumentals--They require a singer.

Especially in light of the renewed interest brought on by the BH movie.

And, in that scenario, Adam Lambert was a great find for Brian May.

But, nobody (repeat nobody) for a minute would think that Lambert can hold a candle to a Legend like Freddie.

Still, unless somebody is a time traveler (and can go back to Queen's glory days), Adam is better than nothing.

Obviously, he isn't Freddie. Nobody is. But Adam does a great job.

For me Queen is the best group in the history... I don't like Adam, he is a good singer but Freddie has an awesome voice that anybody can match...
