Calling MDNA and Hard Candy "more vital" is simply "TOO MUCH" by Carly Rae Jepsen now available on iChunes.

The video for God Control debuted today.

This came to my attention just now when I saw that Idolator (via their twitter) called it the most ambitious video of Madonna’s career (and, at 8 minutes, I think it may be the longest?):

Most ambitious? I don't know about that. Have they seen Bedtime Story?

I'm not a big fan. To be honest, for starters, the one aspect I don't like about God Control -as amazing as the soundscape it builds is - is its wonky approach to the gun control message, with lyrics like... those. "We need to wake up!!" Um, OK, no shit.

The video really amps UP the heavy-handedness, all while being so simplistic - people are having fun in a disco, some dude comes up and starts shooting. More gun control!

It borders on exploitative, and this is not a problem that I had with, for example, American Life's original video - which had more of an interesting message behind it, more interesting direction, a bit of necessary satire and tongue-in-cheekness, etc. It was shocking but it felt more insightful.

I'll be shocked if she doesn't do what you long for, and more from that album. It should be Mirwais heavy, please.

Did people really spend thousands of dollars for FOUR Madge songs?? I feel like the headliners of Pride (nevermind WORLD Pride) always perform a full setlist...

Am I the only one who thinks Dark Ballet is a little too dense to be that early in the album? Track 2 should be something a lot more inviting and poppy. You save the weirder, more ambitious stuff for later, like the second half of the album.

Imagine if Paradise (Not For Me) was track 2 on Music.

I think there's a narrative in the album, it could be divided into these parts:
    (1) Beginning: the dark, moody, experimental songs detailing world's current state (God Control, Dark Ballet, etc)
    (2) Madonna being broken down by world and personal issues (Killers, Crave, Crazy)
    (3) Madonna finding joy & strength within herself again (Come Alive, Faz Gostoso, Loca, I Rise)

In restropect, Medellin makes sense as both the album's opener and debut single from Madame X
It conveys both the narrative in the album (finding joy & strength after being broken down) and sets the tone for the album

As far as I know tickets were sold out before she was announced, and she isnít listed as a headliner.

People have been mentioning a 5th song. (Music+Faz Gostoso)

It's a 30 min set, I'm guessing there was no room.
