What's wrong with the editing in A Star is Born?

Obviously, if Vice ends up missing Best Picture, it isn't going to win here and Black Panther probably will instead.

Dragon Tattoo, Bourne Ultimatum, Dunkirk, Fury Road, Gravity, Argo... not all of these are action movies, but all of them have suspenseful sequences. That's the key.

I remember arguing in 2016 that Hacksaw Ridge would win Editing because it was the only "suspenseful" type movie in the potential BP lineup, but others insisted it would be LLL. And then I finally saw LLL at Christmastime and changed my tune. The editing was sooooo flashy, so sharp, so in your face. It had to win. Besides, Hacksaw had that terrible cornball first act followed by the basic training stuff. It wasn't loaded with set pieces like other winners. I gave up on it. And then it won anyway.

I'm convinced that a movie with "suspense" as a key part of its narrative will win. This leaves only First Man and Black Panther among potential BP nominees. It'll be one of those, likely the latter.

    Now watch Vice win.
    Yeah. Still First Man imho.
