Tho there's hope if you consider The Cell, Bram Stoker's Dracula, An American Werewolf in London and Beetlejuice (to a lesser extent.)

Guadagnino being a name director helps it a lot.
Also "Shadow of the Vampire", though its horror is more subdued.

I would cry in happiness if "Suspirium" gets nominated.

I don’t get these studios not putting their Original Song contenders in their FYCs. Do they just not see a point in competing against Gaga and Kendrick, or what?

And I’m not pleased at all about WB throwing their full weight behind Shallow.

Based on what’s been released, the noms should be:
    1. Lady Gaga, I’ll Never Love Again
    2. Kendrick Lamar, All the Stars
    3. Quincy Jones, Keep Reachin’
    4. Arlissa, We Won’t Move
    5. Sade, Flower of the Universe

    But they will be:
    1. Lady Gaga, Shallow
    2. Kendrick Lamar, All the Stars
    3. Trip A Little Light Fantastic, Poppins Cast
    4. A social issue anthem (Hudson / Arlissa / Kesha / Sivan)
    5. A veteran act (Parton / Sade / Lennox / Yorke / McGraw / Bocelli)

Mowgli has an original end-credits song, called Changes, written by the film's original score composer Nitin Sawhney. Even though I doubt it will get a nod, it's actually a nice and catchy tune.

I really hope Troye Sivan can get in. "Revelation" is beautiful.
