While I agree that Toy Story 4 wonít do it, I think Inside Out had much less support than Pixarís previous contenders had. After all, it wasnít nominated for Score and didnít come particularly close to being nominated for either sound category despite Pixar regularly getting into all 3 of those. Iím sure the new voting system didnít help, but I donít think it was the main factor. I think the Academy might just not be that interested in Pixar outside of the Animated Feature category nowadays. Coco also was largely overlooked by the Academy and wasnít even in the top 8 in the screenplay race despite every original Pixar film except Brave, Cars, Monsters Inc, and A Bugís Life being nominated there.

Like how Roma broke out of the Foreign Film ghetto they put all international movies in. Toy Story 4 has a very good reception, will make a bajillion dollars, probably has Animated Oscar on lock. But it would need like a 90+ MC, NYCC/LAFC, shows up on the most top ten lists kind of reception to break out of that bias and into the main field.

I doubt it. But it's only June, I don't know much about most of these contenders. And there's also the possibility of only 8 or less BP nominees, in which case either LW or Beautiful Day (my list) would surely be left out.
