Long before he became everybody’s favorite TV brother, Brad Garrett got his first taste of screen stardom when he became the first grand prize winner in comedy on Star Search in 1984. Throughout the 90s and 2000s, Garrett lent his distinctive voice to dozens of animated series and video games, his deep bass giving life to characters in The Transformers, Fallout, Superman: The Animated Series, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and many more.

Then in 1996, Garrett starred opposite Ray Romano in Everybody Loves Raymond, the hit comedy series that ran for nine seasons and more than 200 episodes. The show was an awards darling too, and Garrett won three Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor, with two additional nominations. He was also nominated for Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie when he played Jackie Gleason in 2003’s Gleason. Raymond may have ended 20 years ago, but Garrett has never stopped working. He is a consistent presence both onscreen and in his voice roles, appearing in everything from Finding Nemo to last year’s Saturday Night.

Now he stars as the villainous Lord Grigon in Pixar’s newest adventure, Elio, where his efforts to take control of the intergalactic Communiverse are disrupted when a young boy from Earth tries to save the day.

Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation will release Elio in theaters on June 20.
