It’s the new year and we now enter what is essentially Phase II of awards season. The majority of critics’ groups have announced winners (or at least nominees) with some still to reveal this month. But January is where the heavy hitters land with the televised awards: The Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice and the Screen Actors Guild. It’s also when the majority of non-televised guilds announce their nominations (the first two weeks of January alone are mind-boggling).

But something to really look at with these dates and deadlines is where a voting period lands between other awards bodies announcing. The potential impact from a win at next weekend’s Golden Globes could find itself in a very prime spot of the week of Oscar nomination voting. This year, two of the biggest and most important guilds – the Producers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild – will have announced their winners the weekend before Oscar nominations. With no time to scramble between those dates it could give us possible winners that miss out on the Oscars.

Here is an exhaustive list of key dates and deadlines between now and the 90th Academy Awards on March 4th. And be on the lookout for this year’s Build by Guild: Creating a Best Picture Nominee chart this week.
