Michael Fassbender “plays the orchestra” in new ‘Steve Jobs’ trailer
The full length trailer for Universal Pictures’ Steve Jobs from Oscar winners Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) and Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) has dropped, revealing much more of Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender’s performance and an extended look at Oscar winner Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh, Seth Rogen, who co-founded Apple and Jeff Daniels, as former Apple CEO John Sculley. While it’s still tough to get past the fact that Fassbender looks nothing like Jobs (honestly, even Ashton Kutcher resembled the Apple co-founder more) it still looks like a fascinating performance. Jesse Eisenberg didn’t look that much like Mark Zuckerberg but it didn’t stop The Social Network, his performance or Aaron Sorkin’s script for that film still be just short of genius.
With such a powerhouse of Oscar players involved it’s hard to imagine this won’t be in a strong position to grab a handful of nominations, especially for Fassbender. Having already jumped the hurdle of a first nomination (for 12 Years a Slave) he could secure his second here. But, his notorious attitude about campaigning for a nomination could end up hurting him, especially when you have thirsty actors ready to hit every red carpet and party in town to get to the Dolby Theater.
Steve Jobs hits theaters October 9th.

If it helps any, I believe his attitude has changed regarding how he campaigns for the Oscar, courtesy of the studio and expectations they may have of him.
