2024 Primetime Emmy Awards Episode Submissions
With Phase I of the Emmy Awards, the nominations, out of the way, it’s onto Phase II, voting for the winners with episode-based submissions.
Drama and Comedy Series submit six of their best episodes, while lead and supporting actors and actresses submit a single episode. Guest acting submissions are already established from their original nomination submissions. In Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, leads automatically submit the entire series or movie, while supporting performers get to submit a single episode. By default, AppleTV+’s Slow Horses, a first time nominee in any category for its third season, is the first series submission by virtue of only having six episodes in its season (a series must have a minimum of six episodes to be considered).
Variety, Talk, Sketch Series and Reality Host submit a single episode for consideration. Guest actors already have submissions at the time of Emmy nomination voting. Early lead and supporting acting submissions include Walton Goggins, drama lead actor for Fallout with “The Ghouls,” drama lead actress Maya Erskine for Mr. and Mrs. Smith with “Breakup,” Matt Berry, comedy lead actor for What We Do in the Shadows with “Pride Parade” and Ayo Edebiri, who won in supporting for The Bear last season and moves up to lead this season with “Sundae.”
Winner voting period is August 15-26. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards (which reveal the guest acting winners) will be held September 7 and 8, the weekend before the main show. The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards will be live on ABC September 15, 2024.
