27th Costume Designers Guild (CDG) Nominations: ‘Challengers,’ ‘Maria,’ ‘Wicked’ and More
The Costume Designers Guild announced today the official nominees list for the 27th CDGA (Costume Designers Guild Awards).
Challengers, Conclave, Emilia Pérez, The Fall Guy and The Substance will face of in costumes for contemporary film while period film contenders The Book of Clarence, Gladiator II, Maria, Nosferatu and Saturday Night will go head to head. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Borderlands, Dune: Part Two, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Wicked made the Sci-Fi/Fantasy lineup. Why Nosferatu isn’t here and in Period instead is a mystery.
In television, Agatha All Along, Ripley, Shōgun, Emily in Paris, Baby Reindeer and The Gentlemen make up some of the nominees in their category breakdowns.
Celebrating excellence in film, television, short form costume design, and costume illustration, the annual CDGA ceremony will take place on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at The Ebell of Los Angeles. Winners in the nine categories will be announced live at the event.
