2024 International Press Academy Satellite Awards Nominations: ‘The Brutalist,’ ‘Shōgun’ Lead
The International Press Academy have revealed their Satellite Award nominations for the best in film and television for 2024. The Brutalist leads the motion picture nominations with 10 while Shōgun tops TV noms with five.
Dune: Part Two earned nine nods, Conclave and Emilia Pérez each have eight nominations, Gladiator II and Wicked share seven nominations apiece and Anora was next with seven. Nosferatu was awarded Best Ensemble for a Motion Picture. The Makeup award goes to Wicked and the Stunt award to Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In.
In television, Baby Reindeer came in with four, as did Feud: Capote vs. the Swans, which also won a juried award for its ensemble. Several shows earned three nominations, including Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Only Murders in the Building, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Sympathizer and The Penguin.
The Special Achievement Awards and honors include the Tesla Award for Simon Hayes, the Auteur Award for F. Javier Gutiérrez, the Humanitarian Award to Alejandro Monteverde and the Honorary Satellite Award to Radha Mitchell. The Mary Pickford Award will be announced at a later date.
