On the Shelf: ‘Send Help,’ ’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,’ ‘Die My Love,’ “Sleepers,’ and ‘Point Blank’ Highlight the 4K Physical Media releases for the Week of April 20

This week of physical media releases sees a hand full of new releases from 2026 and 2025, as well as a classic from 1960s and an underrated gem from 1990s make its way onto 4K. First up this week is the sleeper hit of the year, the latest horror flick from director Sam Raimi, Send Help, starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien. When two colleagues become stranded on a deserted island, they are the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive, and a two headed showcase of excellent acting and thrilling scares from Raimi. In his review from earlier this year, Jay Ledbetter stated that while this is not Raimi’s best work, “it’s hard not to love seeing him back where he belongs: making graphic, hilarious movies with morally ambiguous characters.” He also highlighted McAdam’s performance, who “absolutely transcends” in her role.
As you are picking that up, go ahead and grab 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the second entry in the revamped horror franchise that is looking to become a trilogy, and is the direct sequel to 2025’s 28 Years Later. Picking up right after the events of the last film, we find Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) connecting himself to someone (or something) that could change the world as they know it, as well as Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) becoming a nightmare he can’t escape. Violent, gory yet tender and human, Nia DaCosta’s sequel is a brilliant continuation, one that our own Trace Sauveur stated in his review that is “exhilaratingly unpredictable.” They make for a good pair to pick up today as two of the best films of the year so far.
Last year brought the return of one of cinema’s most celebrated filmmakers Lynne Ramsay, as she dived into the mind of a mother on the verge of an internal breakdown with Die My Love. In a remote forgotten rural area, Grace (Jennifer Lawrence), a newly minted mother, struggles to maintain her sanity as she battles with psychosis while raising their child on their own while her husband (Robert Pattinson) is gone working most of the time. It’s a mesmerizing examination of the trails of motherhood as someone is losing their identity while becoming someone that a venerable little human needs to care taken from. As I stated in my review of the film, Lawrence delivers “easily the best of her career,” and in doing this, “she uses her own personal experiences of becoming a mother over the last couple of years to add complexity to the anxiety, fear, and loneliness found within Grace’s story.” It’s a masterclass in acting that you will want to pick up this week.
New to 4K from Warner Bros. is Barry Levinson’s crime drama, Sleepers, which centers around four teenage friends from Hell’s Kitchen who end up being sent to reform school after almost killing a man. There they are brutalized by the guards and it changes their lives forever as two grow up to be hit men who recognize their abuser years later and kill him. Their trial is prosecuted by another member of their gang, who is now the assistant DA. Starring Kevin Bacon, Brad Pitt, Jason Patric, Ron Eldard, Billy Crudup, Minnie Driver, Robert De Niro, and Dustin Hoffman, Sleepers is an underrated, powerful gem within Levinson’s filmography, and one of the best films of 1996.
From our friends at Criterion, the gangster drama Point Blank arrives on 4K and into the collection. Director John Boorman brought the gangster drama into new realms of modernist abstraction with this stylized revenge thriller, which transforms hard-edged pulp cinema into a kaleidoscopic psychological puzzle you’ll want to see. Lee Marvin is incredible as the cool Walker, who after he’s betrayed and left for dead by his team during a robbery job, he goes on a quest for vengeance. Based on the novel The Hunter by Donald E. Wastlake, Point Blank is the definitive adaptation of his acclaimed novel and the best version of his “Parker” character we’ve seen on screen. It’s a welcomed addition to the collection and you’ll want to pick up on 4K this week.
