OFFICIAL International and US ‘Arrival’ Trailers plus 10 New Posters
The Arrival blitz from Paramount is hitting like an alien invasion after the first stills and teaser were released last week and now with an official US and International trailer dropping today along with 10, count ’em 10 alien ship posters of the vessels in various world locales.
Based on the short story “Story of Your Life” by Ted Chiang, ARRIVAL takes place when mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe and an elite team is put together to investigate – including language expert Louise Banks (five-time Oscar-nominee Amy Adams) and mathematician Ian Donnelly (two-time Oscar-nominee Jeremy Renner). Mankind teeters on the verge of global war as everyone scrambles for answers – and to find them, Banks and Donnelly will take a chance that could threaten their life, and quite possibly humanity. The film also stars Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker.
With Paramount’s heavy awards slate this season and nothing from Fences or Silence so far, it’s looking like Arrival could be their main push. Amy Adams will be looking at her sixth Oscar nomination (second in Best Actress) with the film, which could also scoop tons of tech nods and even have director Denis Villeneuve and supporting actors Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker in contention.
Arrival will open the Venice Film Festival and also hit Toronto (and it looks like Telluride) to follow the model of Gravity before its November 11th bow.
