‘Christine’ trailer starring Rebecca Hall and Michael C. Hall
The true story of Christine Chubbuck shocked the nation and changed the landscape of television forever. It also allegedly provided part of the inspiration for Paddy Chayefsky’s script for the 1976 satire on the television industry, the Oscar-winning film Network.
Set in 1974, Christine tells the story of an ambitious news reporter named Christine Chubbuck (Hall) who is relentlessly motivated to succeed. When competition for a promotion, unrequited love for a coworker, and a tumultuous home life all come together, Christine faces an emotional crisis that has devastating consequences.
Directed by Antonio Campos (Afterschool, Simon Killer), Christine also stars Michael C. Hall, Tracy Letts, Maria Dizzia, J. Smith-Cameron, Timothy Simons, Kim Shaw and John Cullum. It was an official selection at this year’s Sundance and Toronto film festivals.
Christine is set for release from The Orchard on October 14th.
