Greater Western New York Critics nominations: ‘Sound of Metal’ leads with 8
Darius Marder’s directorial debut Sound of Metal leads the Greater Western New York Film Critics Association nominations with eight today, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Riz Ahmed, Supporting Actor for Paul Raci and three individual mentions for Marder himself.
Chloé Zhao’s Nomadland was next with six, while The Father, Mank and Never Rarely Sometimes Always came in with five apiece, including Best Picture. Rounding out BP were Da 5 Bloods, Driveways, First Cow, I’m Thinking of Ending Things and Small Axe: Lovers Rock.
