Columbus Film Critics Association nominations: ‘Minari’ leads with 10
Lee Isaac Chung’s thoughtful American dream drama Minari led the 2020 Columbus Film Critics Association nominations on Sunday with 10 mentions, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Ensemble and several individual acting nods for Steven Yeun, Youn Yuh-jung and Alan Kim. The film also earned multiple technical nominations that pushed it into double digits.
Darius Marder’s Sound of Metal was next with 8, while David Fincher’s Mank and Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7 came in with seven apiece. Rounding out the Best Film nominees were First Cow, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Never Rarely Sometimes Always, Promising Young Woman and Soul.
The group also highlights actors with multiple works in 2020, nominating Sacha Baron Cohen (for Borat and Trial), Chadwick Boseman (for Da 5 Bloods & Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) and Elisabeth Moss (for The Invisible Man & Shirley).
