Interview: India Oxenberg on life after NXIVM and the upcoming sentencing of Allison Mack [VIDEO]
After finally breaking free from the sex cult NXIVM in 2018, India Oxenberg had an overwhelming amount of work to do on herself. Now that she’s started making her own strides forward, Oxenberg has turned her efforts to others, working to ensure that the same fate doesn’t happen to anybody else.
In Seduced: Inside the NXIVM Cult, Oxenberg gets to tell her story. Unlike HBO’s docuseries about NXIVM, The Vow, which came out last year, the time is taken to examine the long-term ramifications that years of indoctrination, control and abuse inside the organization has on a person.
With NXIVM leader Keith Raniere finally behind bars and other powerful members of the cult soon to face sentencing, including actress Allison Mack, the time has come for Oxenberg and others to figure out how to move on.
Daniel Trainor had a conversation with Oxenberg about her life today, navigating a relationship with her mother, her complex feelings on Mack’s sentencing and professional goals for the future.
Seduced: Inside the NXIVM Cult is available to stream on Starz and is Emmy eligible for Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Series.
