American Cinema Editors Announce Key Dates for 2024 ACE Eddie Awards
American Cinema Editors (ACE) has announced the ceremony date, venue and the full voting timeline for its annual ACE Eddie Awards, recognizing outstanding editing in 13 categories of film and television. The 74th ACE Eddie Awards will be held Sunday, March 3, 2024 at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles. This year, the ACE Eddies will transition to an earlier start time, which will begin with a reception, followed by the ceremony and after-party.
“Since the Golden Reel Awards are also set for March 3rd, we collaborated with our partners at the Motion Picture Sound Editors Guild to make sure that both the sound and picture editing communities could attend both the ACE Eddie Awards and the Golden Reel Awards to celebrate together,” stated ACE Executive Director Jenni McCormick.
To be eligible to compete in both film and television categories, projects must have aired or been released in theaters between January 1 – December 31, 2023.
Three special honors will be handed out at the ACE Eddie Awards ceremony including two Career Achievement recipients presented to film editors of outstanding merit and the Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year honor presented to a filmmaker who exemplifies distinguished achievement in the art and business of film. Honorary award recipients will be announced later this year.
Also announced that evening is the winner of the Anne V. Coates Student Editing Competition.
Submissions for the ACE Eddie Awards open November 1st and close on December 15th at 5pm PT. ACE is will once again partner with Indee Secure Screening Rooms to help make all submissions available for online viewing by uploading to the new ACE app.
