Art Directors Guild (ADG) announce key dates and deadlines for in-person 2022 awards

The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) 26th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards honoring Production Design in theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials, animated features and music videos will return to a live in-person gala at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Saturday, March 5, 2022. 

The producer of this year’s ADG Awards is Art Director Michael Allen Glover, ADG (The Alienist, Solo and the upcoming Station Eleven). Joining the team as stage designer is Emmy-winning Production Designer Brian J. Stonestreet, ADG (Golden Globes, Grammy Awards, Billboard Awards).

2021/2022 Film Awards Calendar

The ADG Awards honor excellence in Production Design in theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos and animated feature films. This year, the ADG Awards will include 13 categories: Period Films, Fantasy Films, Contemporary Films, Animated Films, TV One Hour Period or Fantasy Series, TV One Hour Contemporary Series, TV Movie or Limited Series, TV Half Hour Single Camera Series, TV Multi Camera Series, TV Variety, Reality or Competition Series, TV Variety Special, TV Commercials, TV Short Format: WebSeries or Music Video.

Last year, Mank, Tenet and Da 5 Bloods taking top honors for film while OzarkThe Mandalorian and The Queen’s Gambit were among the winners for television.

Submissions Open for Television & Feature Film – Monday, Oct. 4, 2021

Submissions for Television Close – Monday, November 8, 2021

Submissions for Feature Films Close – Monday, December 20, 2021

Online Voting for TV & Feature Film Nominations Begins – Monday, December 27, 2021  

Online Voting for All Nominations Ends – Monday, January 21, 2022 (5PM PT)

Nominations Announced – Monday, January 24, 2022 

Final Online Voting Begins – Thursday, February 3, 2022

Final Online Voting Ends – Thursday, March 3, 2022 (5PM PT)

Winners Announced at 26th Annual ADG Awards – Saturday, March 5

ADG Awards are open only to productions, when made within the U.S., by producers signatory to the IATSE agreement. Foreign entries are acceptable without restrictions.
 
Honorees for Cinematic Imagery Award, Lifetime Achievement Awards, Hall of Fame and the William Cameron Menzies Award will be announced at a later date.
