BAFTA North America Announces Dates for 2025-2026 TV and Film Events, First-Ever BAFTA Honours

BAFTA North America has announced its upcoming slate of events which includes the TV Tea Party in Los Angeles and New York Tea Party, as well as the first-ever BAFTA Honours, which will award the iconic BAFTA mask to three distinguished honorees across film, TV and games.
BAFTA’s mission as a charity is to champion the creative and cultural importance of the screen arts across film, games and television. Through its Awards ceremonies and year-round program of talent initiatives and learning events that include masterclasses, lectures, scholarships, bursaries and mentoring schemes in the UK and North America, BAFTA identifies and celebrates excellence, discovers, inspires and nurtures new screen talent, and enables learning and creative collaboration.
“Over 20 years ago, we launched our Games Awards in London. So for decades, we’ve now been this trisector organization: having film, television and games as our major award ceremonies in the UK,” said BAFTA North America executive director Courtney La Barge Bell. “We’ve also really been doing a lot of work to help our membership reflect that trisector, as well. BAFTA North America has had chapters in New York and LA since the 80s and 90s — and so we have always been this place where, globally, people that are at that intersection between the US and the UK across film, TV and games have been existing. It’s really what sets us apart, certainly in the US, among other academies.”
Also, ahead of the announcement of the BAFTA Honours, BAFTA North America recently opened full-voting membership up to those working in the gaming industry and applications will be open until August 14.
According to BAFTA North America, “Applicants do not need to be British or have previously won a BAFTA, but must demonstrate a substantial contribution to the UK screen arts, supported by their credits and career achievements.”
BAFTA North America’s TV Tea will celebrate excellence in the television industry on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The event will also raise awareness for BAFTA North America’s Learning, Inclusion and Talent programs, in which the organization provides mentorship, education and financial aid for emerging artists in underserved communities. Attendees of the 2024 TV Tea Party included Jodie Foster, Quinta Brunson, Nikki Glaser, Hiroyuki Sanada, Mark Duplass, Jessica Gunning and more.
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, BAFTA’s second annual New York Tea Party will highlight emerging talent and celebrate groundbreaking film and television in cooperation with the New York Film Festival. Attendees of the 2024 New York Tea Party included Colman Domingo, Daniel Craig, Natasha Lyonne, Kieran Culkin, Keegan-Michael Key, Jharrel Jerome, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and more.
The inaugural BAFTA Honours will present the iconic BAFTA mask to three distinguished honorees across Film, TV and Games, respectively, on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
BAFTA’s Annual Tea Party, a highlight of the awards season circuit, will return to celebrate excellence in film and unite industry professionals, creatives and talent from the UK, US and beyond. The event, which will take place Saturday, January 10, 2026, also raise awareness for BAFTA North America’s Learning, Inclusion and Talent programs, which provide industry-leading mentoring, education, and financial aid for local communities, underserved students, and emerging artists.
