Cannes 2020: ‘3 Days in Cannes’ youth pass returns
After the hugely successful second edition of the “3 Days in Cannes” initiative last year of which the period was doubled, the Festival de Cannes is running the programme again. On two occasions, between May 13-15 and May 21-23, 18 to 28-year-old film enthusiasts from all around the world will be invited to come and discover the films from the Official Selection.
As part of the Festival’s desire to strengthen its ties with young film lovers and breathe new life into the event on La Croisette, “3 Days in Cannes“ is aiming to understand the future festival goers and audiences of tomorrow. Launched in 2018, this initiative is now seen as a key date in the calendar.
In 2019, the “3 Days in Cannes” pass enabled more than 2,800 passionate young attendees to enjoy the 72nd edition of the Festival and gather around a common passion. Among these 2,800 young film enthusiasts with an average age of 22 years old, 47% came from abroad and 78% are considering a career in cinema. Eager to pass on the love for cinema while also encouraging career development, the Festival hopes to expand its initiative in 2020 by increasing its impact through events and masterclasses.
