Chicago Film Critics Association (CFCA) Nominations: ‘One Battle After Another,’ ‘Sinners’ Lead with 12; Eva Victor Lands Most Individual Nods
The Chicago Film Critics Association (CFCA) today announces nominees for their top film honors of 2025. Leading with twelve total nominations each are Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another and Ryan Coogler’s Sinners.
Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme, starring Timothée Chalamet, claims seven nominations while Frankenstein (Guillermo del Toro) and Train Dreams (Clint Bentley) each earn five.
The 2025 Chicago Film Critics Awards again honor a broad list of films and creators, with a total of 42 films nominated across nineteen categories. Of note this year are two categories where nominations, which are voted on by the full CFCA membership, resulted in a tie vote and six (rather than the standard five) total nominees are named: Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress. Additionally, Eva Victor notches the most for a single person this year, for Best Original Screenplay, Most Promising Performer and the Milos Stehlik Breakthrough Filmmaker Award.
