Critics’ Choice TV Awards: Inside Amy Schumer, Broad City, The Americans, Justified Score
The Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) announced nominations for the 5th annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards with HBO, FX and Comedy Central coming out as big winners today. Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer nabbed three mentions while Broad City also got three, including one for Best Comedy Series. Also on the Comedy side, Amazon’s Transparent (which won two Golden Globes this year) go four nominations, including Best Comedy Series and Best Comedy Actor (Jeffrey Tambor).
On the Drama side, Mad Men‘s final season was snubbed entirely. Ouch. The freshman season of Better Call Saul did a bit better, grabbing two acting nods but failing to secure a Best Drama Series nomination. Instead, Justified and The Americans dominated the Drama nominations with five and four apiece, respectively. Empire managed Best Drama Series and Best Drama Actress (Taraji P. Henson) mentions for its first season and The Good Wife came away four nominations, including Best Drama Series.
