The Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) today announced the 2024 nominees for scores and songs in film and other visual media categories where Jacques Audiard’s audacious, Cannes-winning musical Emilia Pérez leads the way with a field-best five nominations, including score, two for song from a feature film (“El Mal” and “Mi Camino”) and onscreen performance for Zoe Saldaña (“El Mal”).

Steve McQueen’s Blitz was next with three nominations: song from a feature film (“Winter Coat”), score for a feature film and for Saoirse Ronan’s onscreen performance of “Winter Coat.” The action blockbusters Deadpool & Wolverine and Twisters also earned three apiece, both picking up music supervision and soundtrack nominations. Wicked, The Wild Robot and Moana 2 were among a handful of films that earned double nominations.

Joining Ronan and Saldaña in the onscreen performance category are Timothée Chalamet for “Blowin’ in the Wind,” from the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, Cynthia Erivo for “Defying Gravity” from Wicked and Nicholas Galitzine and Anne-Marie for “The Idea of You” from The Idea of You.

Up for the main song from a feature film category with “El Mal,” “Mi Camino” and “Winter Coat” are “Compress/Repress” from Challengers, “Forbidden Road” from Better Man, “Out of Oklahoma” from Twisters,” “Periyone” from The Goat Life and “The Journey” from The Six Triple Eight (written by HMMA favorite Diane Warren).

Score nominees alongside Blitz and Emilia Pérez are Challengers, Conclave, Gladiator II, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1, Saturday Night and The Six Triple Eight.

The 15th Annual Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) will be held on November 20, 2024 at The Avalon in Hollywood, CA. The HMMA honors composers, songwriters, and music supervisors around the world for their contributions over the previous year in music for film, TV, video games, and more.

This year, the HMMAs will honor legendary lyricist Bernie Taupin with the prestigious Outstanding Career Achievement Award.
