First Look: Obamas announce next doc with Netflix

Hot off the Oscar win for American Factory, which was executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground, the former President and First Lady will debut Becoming on May 6.
Becoming is an intimate look into the life of former First Lady Michelle Obama during a moment of profound change, not only for her personally but for the country she and her husband served over eight impactful years in the White House. The film offers a rare and up-close look at her life, taking viewers behind the scenes as she embarks on a 34-city tour that highlights the power of community to bridge our divides and the spirit of connection that comes when we openly and honestly share our stories.
Directed by Nadia Hallgren, produced by Katy Chevigny, Marilyn Ness, & Lauren Cioffi and co-produced by Maureen A. Ryan, Becoming will debut May 6 exclusively on Netflix.
He is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic, accredited by the Cannes Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and more, is a member of the International Cinephile Society (ICS), The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics (GALECA), Critics Choice Association (CCA), San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle (SFBAFCC) and the International Press Academy.
