First Looks and Trailer for Peacock’s ‘The Day of the Jackal’ Series with Eddie Redmayne

Peacock and Sky have released the first-look images teaser for The Day of the Jackal starring Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (who also executive produces), Lashana Lynch (co-EP) and Úrsula Corberó. The teaser debuted during the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony on NBC and Peacock.
The Day of the Jackal, premiering November 7, is adapted by Ronan Bennett from Frederick Forsyth’s classic 1971 political thriller novel and follows the Jackal (Redmayne), an unrivaled and highly elusive lone assassin who makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.
This is the third adaptation of the novel, the first being the 1973 feature film directed by Fred Zinnemann and starring and then again in 1997 from Michael Caton-Jones, starring Bruce Willis, Richard Gere and Sidney Poitier, but the first to be produced as a series, from executive producers Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom).
Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi and Florisa Kamara round out the cast.
The Day of the Jackal will premiere on Peacock (US) and Sky (UK) on November 7, 2024. Here is the trailer and more images.
