In what is bound to cause a lot of conversation this season, the first teaser trailer for Fox Searchlight’s Jojo Rabbit, from actor/director Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) has been released on the heels of the announcement that it will world premiere at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival.

Official synopsis:

Writer director Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis), whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in her attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his naive patriotism.

The screenplay for Jojo Rabbit is by Waititi, based on upon the book “Caging Skies” by Christine Leunens. It’s produced by Waititi, Carthew Neal and Chelsea Winstanley and also stars Rebel Wilson, Stephen Merchant, Alfie Allen and Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell.

Fox Searchlight will release Jojo Rabbit on October 18th. Here is the first teaser trailer and new poster.
