Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin, Big Mouth) puts the action chops she learned from 2016’s Deepwater Horizon to the test in the trailer for tense thriller Miss Bala.

Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) directs the English-language remake Mexico’s 2011 Oscar submission for the Best Foreign Language Film.

Miss Bala was written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer also stars Ismael Cruz Córdova, Anthony Mackie and Matt Lauria. It is produced by Kevin Misher of Misher Films and Pablo Cruz of Canana Films.

Columbia Pictures will release Miss Bala on February 1, 2019.
