“Everyone’s got a theory about Castle Rock’s original sin,” says Lost alum Terry O’Quinn in voiceover and seen briefly in photo as a warden of Shawshank prison.
Today, Hulu announced that Castle Rock, the psychological-horror anthology series from J.J. Abrams and Stephen King, will premiere on July 25th exclusively on the streaming network.
Castle Rock is a psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, an original story that combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. This first look gives us a peek at the dark underbelly of a quaint little Maine town and its denizens. The series features and all-star cast that includes André Holland (Moonlight), Melanie Lynskey (Togetherness), Oscar-winner Sissy Spacek (Coal Miner’s Daughter), Bill Skarsgård (IT), Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Terry O’Quinn (Lost) and Scott Glenn (The Leftovers).
Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason developed the 10-episode project for television and serve as executive producers along with J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson and Liz Glotzer. Castle Rock is from Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
