Interview: How renovation king and Emmy nominee Bobby Berk (‘Queer Eye’) keeps busy during quarantine [VIDEO]

The Fab Five are Emmy nominees, boys and girls!

For the first time, “Queer Eye” hosts Bobby BerkKaramo BrownTan FranceAntoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness are nominated for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program at the Primetime Emmys. While the show itself is the two-time defending champion in the Outstanding Reality Structured Program category (and nominated again this year, thank you very much!), the guys themselves had never been singled out.

The fifth season of Queer Eye, which took place entirely in Philadelphia, premiered earlier this summer. Filming of the sixth season, set in Austin, was paused at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. While the long-term future remains uncertain, the immediate one is very clear and, ideally, filled with gold.

The Fab Five face stiff competition, including four-time defending champion RuPaul, but that’s not stopping some plans from being made during this unprecedented Emmy season. Daniel Trainor and Sam Stone caught up with Bobby, who theorized about whether or not he’ll wear pants for the virtual ceremony, as well as the unique home renovation project he’s been forced to undertake during quarantine, taking it upon himself to cut down his neighbors’ trees and whether or not he and Daniel look alike.
Daniel, Sam and Bobby also play the inaugural version of “Chic or Not Chic,” a game which is soon to be sweeping the nation.

All seasons of Queer Eye are available to stream on Netflix.
